These are the most embarrassing bloopers in movie history

From The Lion King to Titanic: there are flaws in every movie

Movies take us into a fantasy world. Whether this is a romantic love story, science fiction or an exciting horror film. Once on the big screen, everything runs smoothly. However, during filming, of course, not everything works out in one take. The result? A lot of hilarious bloopers. Prepare your laughing muscles, because we list the funniest bloopers in film history.

Producing a film is a colossal undertaking that necessitates the involvement of a director, numerous actors, and a large crew. Despite spending millions of dollars on a single film, mistakes occasionally happen, as evidenced by the fact that blunders are still present. These blunders may include oversights in the editing process, historical inaccuracies, or surprising wardrobe malfunctions.

Some vigilant viewers have even turned spotting these blunders into a game. Have you ever noticed any of the following mistakes while watching a movie?

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

In 2019, Quentin Tarantino was back in the game as director of his latest film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The film features big names such as Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. It is about the life of a movie star and his stunt double. They try to navigate through the changing movie scene in Hollywood as it marks the end of the Golden Age.

In one fight scene, however, the creators overlooked a small detail. Bruce Lee and Cliff Booth fight each other in a battle where the “best two out of three” wins. In the process, a lot of audience is present. At least, in one scene they are still there and in the next they are not. Huh? One moment everyone is watching the fight, and the next moment people are nowhere to be seen. Mistake!

On the next page, read a blooper from Lord of the Rings.

Lord of the Rings

Gandalf was a powerful wizard in the Lord of the Rings movies. This wizard could do a lot with his magical powers, and perhaps more than you would expect from his character. He apparently had so many powers that he could travel to a modern time and buy a nice watch.

Yes, you read it correctly. Not many people noticed this detail, but in one of the scenes Gandalf actually had a watch on his wrist. Not that it mattered much, because after all, the film amassed over $3 billion in revenue and won a whopping 17 Oscars. So the fact that Gandalf wore a watch is just an (odd) detail. It still remains one of the most iconic film series of all time.

On the next page, we share a hilarious mistake in Django Unchained.

Django Unchained

Who didn’t love Jamie Foxx in this masterpiece by Quentin Tarantino? Playing Django in Django Unchained was a career-defining moment for the actor. Jamie even used his own horse in the film. He wanted the role so badly that he used his horse riding skills to get the part – and it worked! In his role, he had to take down slave owners to win back his one true love, Broomhilda.

So what is wrong with this film, you may ask? After all, it is a classic. Well, once again it involves a small detail. Namely, in the film Django wears John Lennon-style glasses. However, we are pretty sure that such glasses did not exist at that time. In fact, if we look into the history books, we find out that sunglasses did not exist at all in the Wild West. It’s not the end of the world, of course, and most people won’t notice, but it’s definitely a mistake. Another thing to think about: would Django have looked just as cool without sunglasses?

On the next page, we dive into the movie Titanic.

Titanic

When Leonardo DiCaprio took on the role of Jack in Titanic, ladies all over the world went crazy. Back then, when he started the role, he was not as world famous as he is today, but his boyish looks and handsome face quickly captured the hearts of many fans. It may not have been his very best movie role ever, but it was certainly a start that no one will forget.

Although Leonardo DiCaprio was adored around the world, there were also critics who disagreed with part of the script. We are not talking about a mega blooper by the actor himself, but about the writers’ research. After all, in the film, Jack talks about hiking with his father on Lake Wissota. Now what’s the problem? Lake Wissota is a man-made lake excavated in 1917. For the record, the Titanic sank in 1912. So that’s not possible at all. Unless Jack is a time traveler, it was impossible to visit a lake before it even existed.

Read on for a blooper from The Book of Eli.

The Book of Eli

We still love the movie The Book of Eli and the acting skills of Denzel Washington. He played the nomadic warrior tasked with delivering the last existing Bible to a safe location. People loved the film’s message, and The Book of Eli became a blockbuster in no time. However, there was one big – or small, depending on how you see it – problem.

However, the Bible was in Braille. We hear you thinking: so, what exactly is the problem? Well, the Bible in Braille is much larger than one book. Rather, it would be forty or so. And the legendary Denzel Washington certainly wouldn’t be able to carry that with him. It may be a minor inaccuracy, but since the rest of the film was so incredibly good we turn a blind eye to it.

Wondering what went wrong in Ford v Ferrari? You can read about it on the next page.

Ford v Ferrari

Ford v Ferrari is a film about an epic battle between the two car manufacturers. Ford wanted to try to take down the giant Ferrari by building a car that would eventually win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. However, there is a major mistake in the film. Namely, it misses a year of competition that Ford also lost before emerging victorious.

In the film, we see one loss by Ford before the team returns to capture the crown in 1966. In reality, Ford lost twice: once in 1964 and again a year later in 1965. It was only after that second loss that they actually had what it took to win. So while the film is not entirely accurate to reality, it does cover all the important details. And it remains a movie, in which everything is never exactly like in the real world.

Read on for a blooper in Back to the Future.

Back to the Future

One of the most legendary movies ever is Back to the Future. It did an impressive job in predicting the technological progressions. Every detail that was mentioned eventually turned out to be true. Well, almost everything then. We are still waiting for the time when we can use hoverboards. But we will overlook that detail. In this case, we want to discuss another detail.

After all, not every little thing in the film was given the same amount of thought. Remember the scene where Marty played the guitar in the 1950s? However, the guitar in question did not come out until three years after the movie was set. Oops! But since Marty is a time traveler anyway, we can more or less forgive him this mistake. Maybe he took the guitar back in time with him? Who knows.

Read on for a mistake in Panic Room.

Panic Room

Jodie Foster and Kristen Stewart try to escape from a deranged Jared Leto in the thriller Panic Room. At one point during one of the scenes, Jodie Foster is cornered by Jared Leto. She decides to light some propane to escape. That strikes us as a rather bizarre thing to do anyway, but to each his own, Foster.

Fortunately, the propane rises to the ceiling and they remain safe. What’s not right about this? Well, propane is heavier than air and would stay on the ground. The only thing that would have happened is that they would have caught fire and Jared Leto would have had it his way. In a very bad way. You can’t change physics. So when you shoot a scene like that, you have to make sure it’s actually true.

On the next page, we are going to talk about the movie Independence Day.

Independence Day

Independence Day is one of those typical movies that you either love or hate. Either way, many people love the movie in which alien invaders try to take over planet Earth. In some scenes, we see world-famous landmarks either destroyed or sucked up by the spaceships. Quite normal, right?

However, there is one scene where we see the Empire State Building getting this same “treatment” from such a spaceship. In the film, the building is at the end of a long road before it is taken over by the alien invaders. However, anyone who has ever been to the Empire State Building knows that this is not the case. In fact, the building is in the middle of a street, and not at the end of a long road. It’s only a minor blooper, but we can’t ignore it.

Read on for a gaffe in The Aviotor.

The Aviator

Leonardo DiCaprio always delves into the details when preparing for a role. Thus, for the portrayal of Howard Hughes in The Aviator, the actor delved into his tics, rituals and many other obsessions. We know from some other roles that he use a technique called “method acting” (a way or technique of acting in which the actor uses his own experiences to portray a character as truthfully as possible. The actor uses his own memories and emotions, ed.). This even earned him an Oscar for his role in The Revenant.

In The Aviator, however, Leonardo overlooked one small detail in preparation. In one of the scenes, he asks an assistant to bring him exactly ten chocolate chip cookies. But that’s not possible at all! After all, chocolate chip cookies were invented in 1938 and the film is set in 1928, ten years before that time. Well, we too can hardly imagine life without chocolate chip cookies, but it really was reality.

On the next page, we update you on bloopers in The Irishman.

The Irishman

Joe Pesci. Al Pacino. Robert De Niro. All actors who have played some of the toughest characters on the big screen over the years. All three come together as Frank Sheeran, played by Robert De Niro, teams up with a gangster and his crime family in The Irishman. The film is based on a true story. In fact, for Joe Pesci, it was such a trigger that he retired to take part in the film.

Since the film is a whopping three and a half hours long, many scenes were shot more than once to make sure everything is perfect. Unfortunately, that didn’t quite work out. Toward the end of the film, Frank calls Jimmy’s wife to try to comfort her after losing his life. However, several cuts in the editing seem to show Frank reacting differently each time. Oops!

Wondering what went wrong in American Sniper? You can read it on the next page.

American Sniper

Chris Kyle, played by Bradley Cooper, is a traumatized war veteran in American Sniper, fighting his demons and enemies at the same time. Not everyone was enthusiastic about the film, but that wasn’t just because of the story. After all, Clint Eastwood is a fantastic director, and the script itself was quite good. However, there was one scene in particular that people couldn’t laugh at.

In the scene in question, we see Bradley Cooper cradling a baby. However, there is a “problem” that bothers people: it’s a doll! While it is not always the easy thing to use a real baby in movies, you can at least make it look a little more realistic. These creators apparently made no effort to disguise the fact that they used a plastic baby doll in the film – although it actually triggered a lot of people to watch the movie just for this blunder.

On the next page, we discuss a blunder in Rumble in the Bronx.

Rumble in the Bronx

In the movie Rumble in the Bronx, Jackie Chan plays a young martial artist who comes from China to his uncle’s store in the Bronx. In the film, he fights many dangerous gangs. Well, what else do you expect? After all, he is Jackie Chan! It is an exciting martial arts film that capitalizes on all of Jackie Chan’s strengths as a martial arts hero.

However, the makers made one silly blunder with his appearance during some scenes. Jackie Chan was injured while filming this movie and had to wear a cast around his leg. Some outfits he wears don’t actually hide that, so you can see it. Of course, it’s no big deal – we’re especially impressed that he just kept filming with an injury.

Fast forward to the next page about a mistake in The Lion King!

The Lion King

The makers of The Lion King have previously been accused of remarkable moments in the film. It is thought that adult themes and “jokes” intentionally appear in the film, making it very funny to watch if you are an adult. Who knew there were many allusions in Disney films? However, it is not only intentional additions that stand out in this children’s film.

Indeed, creators of The Lion King have made a “mistake” with Nala’s eye color. In some scenes, Nala has green eyes, while at other times the eyes are blue. Since Nala has a major role in the film, you would think that the eye color would be noticeable. So we wonder how such a big production company like Disney could make such a huge blooper. In any case, we are going to pay extra attention to it next time!

On the next page, we will talk about the movie 1917.
