A sore throat?
There are only a few things as annoying as a sore throat. Every time you swallow it feels like blades are just making their way down your throat… And since a person swallows an average of 3000 times a day, there are quite a few moments when you are going to be in this pain. Usually, a cold virus is the cause of these complaints, and it takes about ten days before it goes away. This is quite irritating because you obviously want to get rid of it as soon as possible.
Most people immediately look for their paracetamol supply, but did you know that there is a natural way to effectively relieve the pain? You don’t even have to go to the store for this next recipe. And within half an hour you are (temporarily) rid of your sore throat!

Sore throat tea
Fill a glass with hot water and add 2 tablespoons of honey, a little lemon juice and some cinnamon. This cocktail of home-garden-and-kitchen ingredients will soothe your sore throat within half an hour and taste great too! Try it the next time you have a sore throat.
Every time you drink something warm, you’re stimulating the saliva production in your mouth. This keeps your throat moistened with each swallow, which in return reduces the problems. In addition, the honey has a soothing effect on your throat and reduces the chafing feeling. The lemon juice is a good source of vitamin C, which is very good for your resistance. Cinnamon has an antibacterial effect and kills the bacteria that cause cold symptoms. That’s another drink you can try!

Rubbing your tongue over your palate
A stuffy nose can be caused by an inflammation, such as an allergy or hay fever, or by an infection, such as a cold. To get rid of your stuffy nose in under a minute, follow the steps on this page. You don’t need anything for this trick except your own body.
Run your tongue over the top of your mouth until you feel itchy. Then press (not too hard, but not too soft either) with your index and middle fingers on the top part of your nose, between your eyebrows. Keep your fingers pressed in this spot for 20 seconds and your sinuses will empty themselves. Blow your nose and there you go, your breath is free once again!

Sleep really is the best medicine, even against a fever. Curious about how you can lower your temperature while you’re sleeping? Read on quickly!
Fever
Winter and fever are often an unavoidable combination, which many people, unfortunately, must deal with during the cold months. You have a fever if your body temperature is 38 degrees or higher. When you’re suffering from this, it is extra important to take a lot of rest, drink enough and get plenty of vitamins. That’s the fastest way to get over it.
Unfortunately, there is no miracle cure that can remove the flu in one go, but this classic, special trick has been helping to reduce the symptoms for many years. It may sound crazy, but we hope you give it a shot. You probably already have everything you need for this trick.
On the next page, you will find a special way to lower your temperature.
Wet socks
When you suffer from a fever, you can do something before going to sleep that may sound crazy but is actually very effective against your elevated temperature. It may not be odorless, like our tip against cold complaints, but it works just as effectively. You only need two things…
Socks and vinegar. Soak a pair of cotton socks in a vinegar bath and then put the wet socks on. Put on a pair of dry wool socks over the wet socks and keep these two layers on all night. You will see that your fever has significantly dropped the next morning! If necessary, you can repeat this process for several nights.
There is one last tip that works against all kinds of winter ailments, from cold complaints to winter depression.
Vitamin D
The well-known winter depression is caused by a lack of vitamin D. This vitamin is produced by the skin and contributes to all kinds of physical and psychological processes. A deficiency of vitamin D causes, among other things, a lack of energy, fatigue, colds, joint pain, and hyperventilation. Quite an important vitamin!
In winter, the sun is often not strong enough to help you get your physical dose of vitamin D. Of course, it also doesn’t help that you spend more time indoors during the short, cold days. That is why it is advisable to take vitamin D, especially for risk groups such as people with dark skin, women over the age of 50, and pregnant women.
